It wouldn’t be a Forget-me-not celebration without showcasing the amazing makers who brought our designs to life. Last week, we reminisced about Forget-me-not from the business side of things in our Memories and Milestones blog post. Today, we’ll share more about who really made it all possible - you!
There are a couple days left in our Farewell Sale, so don’t forget to check out the shop. The entire catalogue is 50% off through midnight November 7th (EST).

Designing sewing patterns is a weird gig. You spend all this time fussing over minute details, calibrating every measurement to the finest degree. It’s a beautiful challenge - combining artistic vision, methodical processes, and a whole lot of maths.
Even so, the pattern itself is only a framework, creative scaffolding. And when we release a design, we’re always so amazed at how our community interprets, adapts, and brings their creativity to our sewing patterns. It’s the sewists that turn the design into real, tangible pieces and make our 2-D ideas material. (Get it, material? We had to do one last sewing pun.)
We love seeing how makers incorporate our designs into their personal style and make them their own. We've bonded over our love for special details, and we love to see a look come together. There’s a jolt of excitement every time we see our patterns hacked to fit a specific vision. We’re always so honoured to see the ways you integrate designs into your life - be it as everyday staples or special occasion pieces.
Of course we wanted to share every single garment (because they’re all gorgeous, unique, amazing!), we could only select so many for a blog format. Though, if you’re up for more maker inspiration, you can check out our tagged photos and #ForgetMeNotPatterns!
Over the years, we've gotten to know so many makers - and their personal style! It's so fun to see how you curate fabrics and use our patterns for self-expression.

Geeking out about pattern details is our favourite pastime. Even better is finding a crew of makers who love it just as much as we do!

It's no secret our collection is designed with coordination in mind, but it's always an extra delight to see outfits that are full-on Forget-me-not!

Gotta love a pattern hack! From puffed sleeves to neckline mods, we are always so inspired when you put own spin on our designs.

It's so fun to see where you're wearing Forget-me-not. Your messages about market outfits and vacation looks are so fun. Thanks for taking us along!

In all sincerity, thank you. The best part of running this business has been being a part of the sewing community. Getting to know so many makers and sharing in the creativity of sewing and design has been such a gift.
An extra special shout-out to all our past testers, brand ambassadors, and Patreon supporters! We couldn't have done any of this without your feedback and contributions. Thank you!
Behind the scenes, there were several folks that helped me along the way. I'd like to thank our little, informal cohort of indie designers - Brittani of Untitled Thoughts, Lauren of Elbe Textiles, and Chelsea of Friday Pattern Co - for your encouragement and collaboration.

I'll certainly miss my role as pattern designer in the sewing community, but it's comforting to know there's still a place for me there, among so many brilliant sewists. I have received so many heart-felt, kind, and supportive comments from you all along the way, as well as on our Farewell post on Instagram. It means so much and I'm hoping I can return and share more in time!
I look forward to many more sewing adventures to come. As always, I can't wait to see what you make!
Sincerely,
Jo

Fancy a stroll down memory lane? Forget-me-not is saying farewell (at least, for now), but before we go, it’s time to celebrate where we’ve been!
Forget-me-not Patterns launched July 3, 2019 with the Clementine Knit Dress pattern. It was clear from the beginning that the sewing community was eager for distinctly detailed patterns with lots of options for styling and fit. We set out to design wearable wardrobe staples with extra special details to create pieces that were both elevated and easy to wear.

Dear Sewists,
With a grateful, yet heavy heart, Forget-me-not Patterns is saying farewell. At least for now. Design and patternmaking mean absolutely everything to me, and this decision hasn’t been an easy one.
