The Helmi blouse is a semi-fitted blouse for lightweight woven fabrics.
Helmi features two different collar styles and two optional ruffles so you can choose the vibe! The blouse pulls over the head, so the only opening is at the neckline. The bishop sleeves gather into a binding, and have full-length and three-quarter length options.
Side bust darts and back darts give a lightly tailored fit, and three different bust fit styles are included to make fitting easier.
Learn to sew a peter pan collar and a stand collar. We are passionate about sewing details, so we also included a special appendix with extra techniques for sewing sheer fabrics!

Fabric
Helmi is designed for lightweight non-stretch wovens, such as dotted swiss, cotton crepe, double gauze, viscose, silk crepe, or linen. Sheer and semi-sheer fabrics such as chiffon, georgette, and voile are also suitable.
Interfacing
0.5m (0.6 yards) of lightweight woven fusible interfacing (stand collar view).
0.5m (0.6 yards) of lightweight soft knit interfacing (peter pan collar view).
Notions
Thread, one 1cm (3/8”) diameter button (button closure view only), 50cm (19 3/4”) length of ribbon if finishing the neckline with a tie closure (instructions are also included for a self-fabric tie).
Fabric requirements
Allow extra fabric if lengthening the garment, or cutting large scale prints.
Helmi is suitable for intermediate sewers, but confident beginners can sew this pattern too. For an easier sewing experience, pick a stable, opaque fabric.
Available in sizes 28 - 56.
Tauko photos: The blue sample is size 34, in the medium bust fit style. It is made in 100% linen, 5.9 oz/200 gsm). The model is 5’5” (164cm).
The ecru sample is size 38, in the medium bust fit style. It is made in 100% organic cotton, 3.2 oz/110 gsm). The model is 5’4” (163cm).
Forget-me-not photos: The magenta sample is in size 34 and is made in EcoVero viscose by Lise Tailor fabric.
Forget-me-not patterns are designed for a height of 5’6” (168cm).
